Our History

Hi, I’m Cris—the founder of Red Velvet DJ, established in 2014! My journey in music started at age 11 (back in 1996) in Chicagoland where I grew up and lived until 2019. In my early 20s, I moved into the Chicago club and lounge scene, performing at spots like Dragonfly, Bella Lounge, Republic, Wet, Waterhouse, and Rebel in Wrigleyville. 

Since 2011, my main focus has been weddings, where I bring a versatile open‑format mixing style that blends all genres seamlessly and keeps the energy just right from start to finish.

These days, I’m enjoying life in Temecula with my wife, two kids, and three dogs. When I’m not behind the decks, you’ll probably find me watching football, basketball, or baseball (Bears, Bulls, and Cubs forever!), sipping wine, taking long walks, or — for reasons I can’t explain — happily vacuuming around the house.
